Emma's eagerness to learn was evident in every other facet of her life. She loves to read and play the piano and is an active community volunteer. Mathematics was the only thing holding her back academically. That kind of damage to a child's self-esteem, though, can be insidious. It can make them question their intelligence and even their capabilities in other areas, which can lead to poor academic results across the board. Learning to "hate" math can exacerbate this problem. Using a gamification approach, Elephant Learning allows students to become excited and engaged by math, which in turn encourages them to keep trying until they understand and find success.

Finding resources for homeschooled children is a challenge for many families. For military families living overseas, however, it can be insurmountable. Four-year-old Amelia and two-year-old Evelyn’s mom joined a small homeschool group on the base. However, most of the children were older, so the shared resources the group offered were not age-appropriate. Their mom also tried to locate local and online resources but found very few were available in English. Merryn was able to improve her ability to do fractions and has learned almost two years of math understanding in two months! Though Riley is no longer playing, Merryn continues to and is starting to tackle exponents and negative numbers. In fact, Merryn’s Elephant Age has surpassed her actual age, meaning she’s beginning to learn math concepts ahead of her class!

Celina progressed from an elephant age of 4.2 years to 8.2 years in about two months! But more importantly, Celina applies what she learns and understands numbers in a way that she couldn’t last month. Her mom adds, “I’m thrilled with the progress that she’s made in such a short period of time. Now I’m going to really start pushing the two older children!”

According to her parents, “Nothing has compared with her experience on Elephant Learning.” Over the month of August, Zara picked up more mathematics concepts than she had on any other platform. After her first test in September, she told her parents, “I don’t know what Elephant Learning did, but look at that!” She passed her first math test in years!

Christina’s tears at math time fueled her mom to find anything that would help. She realized her daughter wanted to excel past the frustration and anxiety and finally learn mathematics. After reading reviews and case studies about the success that other students with learning disabilities had on Elephant Learning, Christina’s mom decided to sign her up.

To their mom’s surprise, all the kids loved playing on Elephant Learning. The games were intriguing and attention-grabbing. Mabel, who struggled retaining new concepts was having more “aha” moments. Concepts were clicking faster and easier. All along, Abner and Zoya were finding it easier to read and understand math without their dyslexia reducing their performance. The game structure meant less reading math problems, and more hearing them for Abner. On the other hand, number visualization helped reduce number errors for Zoya.

Over time, Connor has learned coping skills to study without stress. He plays on Elephant Learning frequently and learns quickly while his parents enjoy watching him excel academically.

Being diagnosed with ADHD, depression, and general anxiety disorder is a lot to take on as a kid. John’s mom did whatever she could to support her son, especially in school. She decided to pull him from the traditional setting to give him extra attention through homeschool. However, the transition was challenging. John’s mom felt ill-equipped to teach mathematics. Plus, she struggled to find the correct balance of medications that would help John focus while learning. On top of trying to manage four other kids, the situation was incredibly stressful. Kyle’s first assessment indicated what his mom already knew — Kyle was below grade level in his mathematic abilities. But within a month’s time, he advanced to his actual age plus a few years! The whole family is excited for Kyle to return to school with more confidence and mathematics knowledge!

Playing three days a week for a few weeks boosted Hailee’s mathematics understanding. She is happily closing the mathematics gap — without the anger or anxiety. Her mom adds, “She no longer hates math. When I ask her to get her math finished, she says OK!”

“Charlie and Victoria’s comprehension of math increased tremendously,” says their mom. Playing on Elephant Learning five days a week for several weeks filled in their knowledge gaps. Both kids are on the road to mathematic success at their new school.

Dillon’s math skills went from basic addition to complex word problems for children his age. Now, math is his favorite subject, and it has made teaching math so much easier and enjoyable for Alise.

Now, Kaelyb is using the Elephant Learning app five days a week for as much as an hour per day, logging in first thing in the morning.
